Rosebene

Rosebene was born from the ashes of True Fetish, it was the perfect opportunity for musicians to gather again exploring this time new grounds. For this studio project they choose a more oblique approach, the recording sessions were few and far between, but nonetheless the resulting self titled EP still retain a feeling that could only be attained through gathering people in a damp and half lit room full of recording gear. This project was first envisioned as its own idiosyncratic brew of suburban R'n'B and slowly evolved, thanks to the recording sessions, creating its own musical language. The musical pedigree of the players involved can be heard on every track, showcasing influences ranging from Blood Orange's Dev Hynes style of R'n'B to King Krule the Ooze. Samples from Aaliyah and lush harmonies percolate amid synth wobbles and piano riffs.
